Are You Going Bananes?

So if you’re gay and reading this… the first think you should see in that picture is not the cute guy, but the Hermes Birkin Bag. The bag made obviously by Hermes is one of the world’s most sort after hand carries for women, and a lot of gays… Apparently they cost up to a hundred thousand American dollars, with the cheapest one being at least a grand.

They come in different colours, here's a light blue one

Quick background info… the bag is always hand crafted and was first made after the celebrity Jane Birkin, hence the name. Well, I have never seen one in real life… and don’t really think it matters that much to me; but to a lot of people out there, it is a very coveted status symbol. It is said that even if you have money you may not get a Birkin, because the waiting list for it is apparently a couple of years.

So anyway, this post isn’t just about the Birkin but more about the Banane Bag. Oh man… Asian entrepreneurs are genius, we don’t waste time inventing. Rather time is spent on innovating and mass producing functional products that are already working in the market. Hence I present to you the Banane Bag.

Check it out, even the advertising seems like a xerox

It is pretty much the image of something that resembles the Birkin Bag on a canvas bag. Hahaha… Its hilarious… And it sells for less than 1 percent of the Birkin. The inventors of the Banane claims that it isn’t a Birkin rip off because it is a whole new product of its own, and it’s also supposedly environmentally friendly because it’s made of canvas and not leather.

Bananes comes in all colours as well, and here is a similar light blue one

Expect to see more of this bag flooded in the market, I reckon this may finally mark the end of the LongChamp bag… They were seriously everywhere…

Not sure why, but this was everywhere at one time

Well even Marc Jacobs carries a Birkin and not a Marc Jacobs bag… LoL, I do wonder if he’ll be caught carrying a Banane Bag?

SexPo Visit

Had a rather interesting weekend, this is the very first weekend I had in months that really required me to do nothing at all. What I did end up doing was visiting the SexPo in Melbourne. What that is is really just a sex exhibition, where everything that has to do with sex is exhibited, haha.

Although I must say that it’s a very straight event, the merchandise most sold there was costume for women, and surprisingly dildos. The only remotely gay booth there was a bisexual booth. Although one can always interpret that any booth selling dildos are certainly catering to the gay market, right?

There were quite a few kinky booths as well, selling leather and bondage stuff. And me being the good ‘tourist’ and a first timer at a SexPo, bought a bondage bear. Its really quite cute when you look at it, I can imagine tying up my partner like that, haha it would be hot?

I also thought of buying a flesh-light, haha a pretty inventive name if you ask me. I’ve seen countless flesh light advertisements in my email box every week; I swear those advertisers are stalking me… along with penis enlargement and acai berry companies. But anyway, I didn’t buy it in the end, coz they were really quite expensive, and I was with friends, its weird to be buying one of those when you have friends with you right? Especially girls.

I mean its one thing to understand that everyone (guy) masturbates, but to explicitly state it by buying a flesh-light… a bit embarrassing la.

The funny thing about the whole SexPo was that the majority of the stuff sold there were for women, like dildos and costumes, (i.e. maids, nurses, policewomen) and not much of the stuff sold were for men.

I was thinking isn’t it easier to sell sex stuff to men? Cause a women isn’t likely to just walk up to the booth to buy a sex toy right? With that in mind, shouldn’t there have been more booths that sold toys for men? But that wasn’t the case as I mentioned.

All in all it was a fun experience, cost quite a bit to get in and I guess it was worth it, if I were straight… coz I finally got some straight porn magazines. I love them, they would be perfect to purposely-accidently leave them in my room when my parents visit, so that they would see them. That would throw them off course and convince them I’m straight… won’t it?

Homely Rubber

Got some free rubber here the other day, in an effort to promote safe sex, gay events always gives out free condoms. I think Malaysia is catching on as well, as I recall receiving free condoms in one of the Marketplace Christmas events.

Anyway, I took a strip of red packet condoms, maybe cause the Chinese blood in me made me instinctively pick up the red ones for good luck and prosperity, Haha. Anyway, big mistake cause later on I found out that they were ‘tighter fit’ sizes. Not boasting or anything, but I look good in a slim fit shirt, not a slim fit rubber, LoL, hahaha.

What really caught my eye on the packet, apart from the ‘tighter fit’ description, was the fact that it was made in Malaysia! Woohoo, that’s one right back at the government when you think about it. The gov bans gay sex, but here we are supplying the gay population of Melbourne free rubber, “made in Malaysia”, so that they can go at it all night long. Ahaha, the irony.

I tried to take a pic of the word Made in Malaysia, but my sucky camera made it difficult.

Humorous Choices

Its been a busy week being my first week back to uni, so I sincerely apologise in failing to post anything up for the past few days. Being the first week back... there are a lot of choices to be made... decisions and choices... ahh... I just hate them, and love them at the same time. I hate it when I don't have enough choices, but also hate it when there are too many decisions to make... LoL, in short... I'm hard to please.

Anyway, talking about choices... During my last few days in Malaysia, while walking around Gardens MV with one of my friend, I snapped a few pictures from a very popular American clothes apparel store that carries the same meaning of a hole (now now guys... don't get excited over a single word, keep it in your pants). Anyway, that shop gave its customers a whole range of jeans to choose from, and I couldn't help but think some of them had some homo-connotations to them.

I guess these are the gay guys that are straight acting, the ones that may or may not be out to their friends and family, but are nonetheless straight acting. It is not to say that these people aren't at ease with their sexuality... its just that maybe they are more comfortable blending into the general public, so that their friend, families and colleagues don't feel awkward around them.

Authentic are what the out and flamboyant gay guys like to think they are. They are the ones that live by the motto 'So what if I'm gay and I wanna dress gay? I don't give a fuck what other people think'. You can say that these gays are more at ease with their sexuality and do not really care about what other people think.

These are obviously not gay, as the design states... they are straight. Unless of course they are closeted. Well at any rate if they are closeted, it would take some time for them to crawl out of it... although some of them find it very safe and comfortable inside. If and when they decide to crawl out of their comfort zone, then they may decide on a change of fashion to either Standard or Authentic.

These are the gays that are into leather, hence the leather Boot. There is a bar here down under that is very leather friendly... its customer base is huge, from twinks to real leather bears (and trust me when I say real ones). Anyway, I've spoken to some of them before, and for a lot of them... its not just a fashion, but a lifestyle... together with jackets and big bikes and stuff like that.

And finally last but not least... the worst kind of gay you can end up becoming...
