Shower Show-er

A few of my friends have always warned me against showering in a particular fitnessfirst branch because it was sleazy... I never understood why... Until now.

I had a dinner appointment at 8 so instead of going home to shower after my usual Wednesday evening gym session, I decided to shower at the gym... It made sense, since the gym was in the city and the meeting would also be in the city.

When I first entered the showers, there was only one guy showering in one of the stalls, so I was free to pick a stall with no occupant on either side. It was then that I realised the shower stalls were indeed more opaque than the other gyms. From my stall, I can actually see a faintly clear silhouette of the guy showering in the opposite stall.

At first that was alright, so I continued with my shower... Once I was almost done with my shower... A dude walked into the stall beside me... And, he was no normal dude... Even through the frosty opaque glass separating our two shower stall, I could clearly see that he was buffed.

I was sort of finishing up my shower while trying not to stare at my left too obviously... Coz I figured if I can roughly see him 'this' clearly, then surely he can see me too. Don't wanna scare him if he batted for the 'other' team right?

Then low and behold, he started playing with himself. At first I thought he was just washing down there... Then over time i realised he was either jerking off, or trying to wash off a very stubborn dirt stain on his dick.

The sight of a hot guy showering next to me while playing with himself was just too much. Lil Lucas started to rise to the occasion... And to avoid any ambarrassing situations, I quickly finished my shower... Turned off the water... Dried myself and left the stall with a semi boner. I think if I stayed any longer I may have had to either ended my shower with a cold shower, or jerked myself off too.

I lingered a little longer in the changing area just to see who the guy was, because I recognised his multi coloured towel with foot print designs on it hanging outside his stall. Wow, the guy that walked into the change room with that towel moments later, was hawt! He had a cute face, well defined chest and abs and a very nice butt. *wipes drool*

Did I regret not giving him a hand? Not really... Because firstly I don't really know the proper etiquette of change room cruising. What if he wasn't cruising and was only looking to pleasure himself? And seriously, I'm not that sleazy to cruise in the gym's shower... The guy may have been my cup of tea, but the occasion and setting was not. So no, I don't regret not 'participating'.

Nonetheless, it was an interesting experience... Maybe I will shower there again, just to see what and how other people get it on in the shower... LoL voyeur style :p

MidSumma Fever

So, I’ve been getting more into the gay scene nowadays, despite not being out at all to most of my friends. My most recent gayscapade is to the midsumma festival in Melbourne. And if you’re wondering… I’m sure gayscapade is a word right? Or at least it should be!

Midsumma is a queer festival held annually in the city of Melbourne, it is over a period of time in which a wide range of queer themed activities are held all over the beautiful city of Melbourne. The two main events would be the carnival on the first day, and the pride parade on the very last weekend of the festival.

I wouldn’t be in the city for the pride parade, something of a waste… coz I heard its very awesome: meaning there are lots of hot topless guys usually… Ahaha, how shallow right? Anyway, as I said I’ll be missing the pride parade, but what I did attend is the carnival on the first day of the festival.

I went to the carnival with a few friends… yea only a few, I realise I don’t have many close gay friends, something I intend to change :p anyway, yea we hung out together a little at the carnival, which was held by the river side.

And literally hundreds and hundreds of gays came out to play :) It was a very nice event to attend, just knowing that there are so many of us out there is really comforting. You kinda get this feeling that, hey we’re not alone here. Some people even brought their kids along, I was thinking to myself ‘gosh, what liberal parents!’

Anyway pictures are of the carnival in which I took with my modest phone. And, I’ll be back home for the Chinese New Year festive season. Hooray!

Shove Your Bonus Up...

I’m sure this has happened to you one way or another before, someone much older than you approaching you for sex in exchange for certain remunerations. I mean seriously, do all young guys give out a sort of pheromone that shouts we want money for sex?

I personally have nothing against older men, as I have clearly noted in earlier posts, but I do have something against men that think just because they are older and richer than me, they can have their way by throwing cash at me.

My most recent preposition of this sort came from gaydar, when a dude offered to “give me some bonuses if I were still studying to visit him at his hotel”. “I can help make college life easier”. WAT THA FUCK. At first I thought by easier he meant by me having a sexual outlet :P but no… I soon realised easier meant remunerations.

It is such a turn off, I mean seriously. Okay some people may argue that there is no harm if he gives u a little something for sleeping with him, its like a win-win, you get sex and you get “a bonus”. That may be okay for some people out there, but I just suppose its not okay with me.

I do not consider myself in that drastic a financial position that I have to put myself out there for remunerations. I guess, if you are really jobless, and homeless and totally lost in life, as some people out there are, and selling yourself is the only way to fill an empty stomach then by all means, we have to do whatever we can to survive. I totally sympathise with people like that. But I certainly am not in that position, and do not wish to be in that position.

Seriously the next time someone even suggest remunerations for any bedroom activities, I would ask him to shove it up his ass and get lost. Something I should have said to this dude on gaydar but I didn’t.

I’m poor, but not desperate.
I’m poor, but not without pride.
You’re rich, but devoid of human values.
You’re rich but lack certain principals.

Maybe when offering something in return for sex, it shows the ‘recipient’ isn’t the desperate one, but the person offering.

ALSO Directory

I've been cleaning up my room lately, mostly because I'm procrastinating studies for my final exam next week. But I'm also cleaning due to the fact that my parents will be staying with me when visiting next month, and I don't want them to find any gay related reading materials or pictures lying around the house. They'll be visiting because if all goes well with this semester's exams, I'll be graduating next month, so they're here to attend my graduation ceremony :)

While cleaning through the rubbish, I came across this book called the 'Also Directory', it was a directory I obtained from the Uni's Queer Department.

This book is basically a directory of all the gay and gay-friendly business establishments. It has everything from doctors, to dentists, to veterinaries and also from legal advisers, to counselling, to event organisers. So instead of a yellow pages, its like a mini pink pages.

I thought to myself, this is actually pretty cool. Its sort of a way for us gays and lesbians to stick together, for us to help out our own gay business owners. And then I thought wouldn't it be great if Malaysia had something like that as well, as I'm pretty sure there isn't such a thing back home. That way we can support our local gay business owners, ensure that our 'pink' dollars are spent at the right places to help out our own community.

But then just as this 'brilliant' idea manifested itself, reality dawned upon me that Malaysia just isn't ready for this yet. If such a directory was made back home, what it'll probably end up becoming is a hit-list for homophobic bigots. And the business owners will probably be targeted.

Its sad really, coz there are a lot of gay business owners in Malaysia, and if there really was such a directory, I'm sure it'll benefit a lot of parties, both the business owners and customers. Unfortunately, with homophobia so evidently present, it'll be hard to ensure the safety and well being of these businesses once such a list is compiled and made public. In fact I'm sure at this point in time, most owners wouldn't even want to be placed on such a 'hit-list' for fear of any homophobic reactions...

Would straight people stop shopping there? Would homophobic people vandalise the business premise? Who knows, but personally I hope all these bigotry back home will end... at least in my life time... Then maybe we can have a 'Juga' Directory, which is also translated to malay :)

Queer Matrimony Talk

I went to another Queer event this week at uni, and this time it was a lunch time Queer themed discussion. I’ve got to admit I was a little late for the event, so like a misguided sheep, I stumbled into the discussion half way through as I was in a study group meeting just before. I’m not sure what the other participants were thinking when this Asian guy, who barely looks gay, waltzed in half way through the discussion… probably thought I was rude, but eh… what the hell, I don’t care.

The discussion this time was on same-sex marriage, and wow, this really was an eye opening discussion for me. I really didn’t know there were so many takes on this one issue, frankly speaking I was always under the impression that all Queers were for gay marriage… but apparently not.

Picture swiped from the Gay Times

For starters, there are gays that are totally for same-sex marriage, I for one am totally for it. I mean if the breeders have the right to a legally binding happy marriage, then I think we all deserve to have one too. I mean it’s only fair, isn’t it? By denying us the simple liberty of marrying our loved ones, the law is compromising on our rights as equal individuals, and that’s just unfair.

And then there are the what I would call rather ‘promiscuous’ gays, which really don’t care two hoots about gay marriage because they don’t see the need for one… my respond to them is they don’t need one for now… but if they don’t fight for the rights now, then when they find the ‘one’ to marry in the future, they’ll find that they do not have that option because they turned it down, by not caring.

Then apparently there are gays that are against same-sex marriagel… Their point of view sees gay marriage as homosexuals conforming to public ‘hetero’-homosexuality. Some Queers actually think that by wanting to get married, like the heteros, we’re somehow betraying the very essence that we are different from them, that we are Queer.

And some homo’s think that when some gays and lesbians want to fight for marriage rights, they’re turning their backs on their community, the Trans, the leather, the ‘man-boys’ group (no kidding, I just learned there is such a thing) and all the various other homosexuals that do not necessarily strictly fit into the gay or lesbian category. These people feel that pro-gay marriage advertisements and posters all only apply strictly to the vanilla gay or lesbian crowd, not everyone in the GLBT community, so if the gays and lesbians accept that, they are in fact betraying their very own wider community.

Well apparently for some societies, being gay means that you automatically inherit the whole GLBT society. Now… I’m not sure what I really think about this yet, guess I gotta sit on this one and decide again where I stand.

Enforced Mannerism

I may seem a little more relaxed and gay mannered around my gay friends, which would prompt them to think that I am very out. But in actual fact, I view myself as someone that is quite very much in the closet and not ready to come out to the world yet. Frankly speaking, only a very small number of my straight friends are privileged to the information that I am gay, and I believe myself to be predominantly straight acting around the people that has no knowledge of my sexual inclination.

Hence that is why I was pretty shocked when a couple of my gay friends recently pointed out to me that I am in fact very ‘obvious’ (obviously gay) and they can definitely tell that I am gay. This comes as a shock to me because all these while I thought I was straight acting, yet now I am suddenly branded to be ‘obvious’?

A friend even went as far as to say that I am feminine… Wow, so all these while I thought I was straight acting, and all of a sudden I am supposedly acting feminine?

I guess this is a wake up call for me to rethink my mannerism and actions in public, its time for me to become more straight acting until I am comfortable enough to step out of the closet. I am at that point in my life whereby I am still dependent on my family for my education and living expenses, therefore I cannot risk them knowing and throwing me out in the streets with nothing to fend for myself.

Finally, wow feminine? Hahaha that seriously came as a blow to me… feminine? Seriously? Seriously? LoL… No offence to the femme gays out there, I luv you guys, but I frankly don’t see myself as femme…

Movie: A Single Man

I recently hooked up with a friend to watch a gay movie at a small cinema here in Melby, the movie was A Single Man. Its overall a pretty artsy pansy movie and starred the actor that played the gay dad in Mamma Mia.

Anyway, the movie revolved around a gay man dealing with the death of his gay partner, with him contemplating ending his life, and with life tempting him with all the pleasures available to him if he were to remain alive.

There is some eye candy here, but certainly no frontal nude scenes. I'd recommend watching it if you were either gay or very into artsy pansy movies. Otherwise its probably safe to give this a skip. But then again... I'm not very into artsy pansy movies... I actually didn't like Benjamin Button, so maybe I'm a lil biased against these type of my-so-called artsy pansy movies.

The theme and character was very well developed, but I personally felt the plot held not much significance. With that said, I like how the film is able to portray a gay man like any other heteroman dealing with the grieving and loss of a beloved partner. We need more shows that tell the world gays and lesbians are just like any other person, that we are just normal human beings that happen to be attracted to our own gender.

Posters For Anti-Homophobes

Today is anti-homophobia day… so in spirit of this day, there are all kinds of anti-homophobia posters plastered all over Melby, and last Saturday there was even a march for anti-homophobia, in which I can shamefully admit that I didn’t dare attend for fear of being spotted by friends. Well the march was down the main street of Melby, so the chances of me bumping into someone from uni or friends were pretty high… so I guess that’s my defence on why I didn’t go, after all… I’m not really that out yet.

Here are two posters that I particularly liked, because they portrayed to straight people how much less complicated their lives can be… Haha check out the second poster… funny eh? And honestly if the kid I adopt in the future doesn’t turn out to be gay or lesbian, then I guess in some sense I’m relieved for my child, because he or she doesn’t have to go through what I’m going through now… although the difference of course is that I’ll always give my children all the support and love that I can, even if they turn out straight.

I later googled the posters and found out that they were created by a youth group called Minus18 and they even won the Premier’s Young People’s Community Participation Award, the Premier of Victoria would be something like the menteri besar of a state. How nice if there was a ‘Tolak-Lapanbelas’ in Malaysia too eh?

A Pocket Full Of Rainbows

Previously I posted a little something about the gay pride flag and their meaning... so recently I found a really cool book that I think all gays should have :) Its an instant rainbow you can carry around in your pocket.

What appears to be a normal book...

That looks like this on the inside...

Gives you INSTANT RAINBOW!

In my opinion, the person that invented this was really innovative. Normally the flip books are cartoon strips, and they are fliped and viewed from top down. This instead is flipped and viewed from a side angle... Really really nifty :)

Enjoy!

Would You Like Cream With That?

I recently found something very interesting on wikipedia… Cum shots!!!

And these weren’t ordinary cum shots… they are cum shots that would make any porn producer envious… it was a fantastic money shot… and it was on wikipedia for all to enjoy read for educational purposes. Try searching 'Ejaculation' on wikipedia... or alternatively, you can click here.

There are actually some great write up on cumming… but as I said the thing that caught my eye was the Cum shots! There were 2 there on display… one with the heading ‘Video of an Ejaculation’ while the other one was ‘Ejaculation Example’. As long as you are over the legal age for watching pornography in your country… I’d really recommend that you click on the image ‘Ejaculation Example’… cause then wikipedia brings you to the wiki page on that image, and down below that page is a .gif file of a Cum shot! As your personal instinct would have already compelled you to do so… click on the .gif image and check it out.

By the way, if you are not over the legal age for pornography in your country… maybe you can still click on the image in the name of education.

Ahahah!

Purchasing Porn

Remember that book I blogged about called ‘Code of Conduct’? Well apparently the author wrote another book before that, and that book was pretty popular as well. It’s actually a sorta biography/memoir of the author as a gay marine, and its entitled ‘Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star’.

The book is supposed to be about Rich Merritt’s (the author) experience as a gay marine coming from a strict and straight fundamentalist background. It is also about him and his small gay pornography career, it was a little something he did on the side while in the military. I’m actually only half way through the book, because biographies aren’t really my thing. I mainly bought the book because I enjoyed his other book very much, and I just wanted to get to know him a little more by reading his biography… this is so that I can better understand what drove him to write such a fascinating gay military fiction.

Since I haven’t finished the book, and won’t be finishing it anytime soon, as I said… biographies aren’t my thing, this post is more about how I acquired the book, instead of a book review on the book…

It was Borders... not a gay book store

On one fateful day, I was at the bookstore again, and it was then that I decided I wanted to read this other book by the same author of the book I just read. After all, the title itself was interesting enough to attract any gay reader to buy it. So… in I walked to the store and started browsing the Gay, Lesbians, Bi and Transgender (GLBT) section for this book.

Well obviously I didn’t find it there, otherwise I wouldn’t be blogging about it as the story would have been boring… so failing to find a copy of the book, I headed to their electronic book catalogue and typed in the title of the book and tried to locate it. To my utmost surprise… the book was actually shelved in the biographies section, and not the GLBT section.

So being the persistent shopper that I was, I started wandering around the store in search of the biography section. After searching high and low… the search for the biography section proved unsuccessful, as it was no where to be found. I then proceeded to ask one of the staff at hand where the biography section is… since I obviously wasn’t going to ask her where a gay book was located.

“We have a very small biography section… are you looking for anyone in particular?” and she lead me to this two small shelves labelled with small labels ‘biography’.

“Oh no… nobody in particular… I’m really just browsing around, thank you very much”, and she left me alone after that.

For such a big book store, their two shelf biography section was meagre and pathetic. One glance across the two shelves and I instantly knew the book I was looking for was not there. Like an unrelenting vampire searching for blood, I knew I had come too far to give up on the book just because its not shelved in the biography section. The electronic catalogue clearly stated that there were 2 more copies in store…

"fuck! where issit?"

Screw it I thought to myself… so what if she thinks I’m a fag… I’ll just ask her where the book was. So again I approached the lady and asked her if she could help me locate a book I was looking for that wasn’t in the biography section. Instead of telling her the title of the book, I brought her to the electronic catalogue and typed out the title of the book, trying to subtly hint to her that there are two copies of ‘Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star’ that should be in the biography section as stated… but wasn’t there.

“That’s strange, hang on a second” then she pulled out a walkie talkie… and loudly said, “hey, there is this book entitled the ‘Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star’, it says here it should be in the biography section… but it isn’t there… could it be anywhere else?”

“No it should be there, unless there was a mistake and there aren’t any stocks left”, answered the guy on the other end of the radio.

I was like, OH MY GOD! Did she just read the title out loud with me next to her… I was freaking embarrassed. I was debating in my head whether or not to just make an excuse that I was in a hurry and would get the book another time so that I can make a dash out of the store. When suddenly a male attendant walked pass pointing to the screen asking us if we were looking for that book… and told us he knew where it was… I thought to myself… ‘you do? Then hurry and bring me to it so I can get out of here… you ding dong’. He brought us to this shelf entitled ‘Literary GLBT Themes’ and pulled the book out of the shelf instantly… I happily took the book, thanked him… paid for the book at the counter and left the store… almost all in a single breathe.

Well… this story may not be a big deal to a lot of you all reading this. But to me it was… it was very difficult asking a stranger where a gay themed book was… especially one with the title ‘Secrets of a Gay Marine Porn Star’… which could easily be interpreted as me being very interested in gay porn… although I do not deny my interest for gay porn… I would rather my local book store lady not know of my preference in images of naked men.

Anyway, I survived the ordeal… and here I am to tell the tale. Hahaha…

Gay Trending

There is this cool website called Google Trends, and it shows you a graph on how often a term is searched for, relative to the total number of searches globally. It also gives the list of the countries that searches that term the most often. The trending only starts from 2004, but none the less it’s interesting to see what people have been googling over the past few years. Being a science student, I have to admit that graphs get me excited, LoL… So I did a few random searches on gay topics…

I found that some gay topics are actually correlated to each other…

Gay Sex

Anal Sex

Gay Porn

These searches spiked in 2006, and I’m not sure why… but maybe that was the year that a lot of gays came to term with their own sexuality and came out to themselves. Something lil ol Ricky took too long to do… Something worth mentioning here is that Malaysia seems to have made it into the top five for both searches of Gay Sex and Anal Sex… Bearing in mind that we only have a population of twenty-eight million… That’s undoubtedly a very amazing achievement. LoL!

Other searches are more cyclical, for example the term Mardi Gras…

Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras festivity is held sometime in February and March every year, so that clearly explains why the searches spike around that time every year. It’s a gay festival held in Sydney, that I hope to attend one day :)

Something comforting to know is that gay people are slowly building the confidence to come out of the closet.

Coming Out

As you can see how the term coming out is being googled more and more in a rising trend. And it’s probably because gay people want to find out more about coming out of the closet, and they turn to the internet to find out the best way to do so.

Well there are a ton of other things you can check out the trends of… so just head to the Google Trends website and see what the world is googling :)

*the google banner was taken without permission from Ashley... Ashley, if you see this and want it taken off... just message me. cheers

Comparing Thee to Summer

Sonnet XVIII

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed,
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed:
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

During my high school years… the Malaysian education ministry wanted to introduce literature to the students of Malaysia, and therefore students were forced to do literature as part of the Malay and English language subjects.

I wonder if a lot of thought was put into the selection of the literature for students… especially for English. Firstly abridged versions of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and also The Phantom of the Opera were some of the texts… In my opinion, having high school students read an abridged version is an insult to our intelligence. Either pick an easier text, or use the full ‘normal’ un-abridged version for high school students.

Something I would like to highlight is the study of Sonnet XVIII by William Shakespeare. Sometimes it makes me wonder if the folks up there really did any research before selecting this piece of text for the English literature syllabus… Yes true, Sonnet XVIII is arguably one of his most famous Sonnets… But it is also the very Sonnet that verifies to its audience that the Sonnet was written by Shakespeare for another man. Ahaha… does this mean the education ministry is okay with teaching homoerotic literature in high school? Woohoo score one for us!

Sonnet XVIII romantically describes the love of Shakespeare for another guy… as he compares his lover to a summer’s day. Does this make Shakespeare gay? I don’t know and cannot answer that. To me it doesn’t matter if he is gay… whatever he is, he still wrote great things. He was married and had three children… Nonetheless it would also be hard to deny that this particular Sonnet was written for another man, proving that Shakespeare might have some homoerotic tendencies…

Movie: Mulligans

I finally watched the film Mulligans. It’s a gay film made last year… and while I was watching a film called The New Twenty at the Melbourne Queer Film Festival, Mulligans was showing at the very same time. So I didn’t manage to watch it last year at the film festival, but finally this weekend, I got my hands on a copy of the movie and watched it. To describe the film in a single word… ‘Different’.

First of all let’s see, Mulligan actually means given a second chance at doing something. If any of you ever played Magic The Gathering, Mulligan is the term used by Magic players as a second chance to redraw a new hand if they didn’t have a mana card in their first draw. The term was actually spawned from golf by a golfer named David Mulligan. In golf, the term is used when the players are given a second chance to hit the ball on the very first tee off… and only the first tee off… it can’t be used at just anytime.

So why is the film different? It’s because so many gay coming out stories are about young guys finding out about their sexuality and how they deal with it. But Mulligans take the whole coming out tale from a different perspective… it’s a story whereby not the son comes out… but the dad. The acting was pretty okay… and the plot could have been better, but hey like I said, I like the fresh idea of the dad coming out… instead of always the son.

No nude frontal shots… some from the back… shots of some pretty hawt buns. But yea the story is provocative in its own sense. Because many people from our parents generation never had the chance to come out when they were young. And some of them even ended up getting married and having kids. So what happens when they see all these new generation of young gay people living the life they will never have? What happens when a married man realises that he cannot live a lie anymore and have to be true to his gay self? Well Mulligans explores that possibility… although in my opinion not nearly enough…

I’ll be more than happy to watch a sequel if they are gonna make one. Watch it for yourself… definitely a must watch movie if you are gay :)

Humorous Choices

Its been a busy week being my first week back to uni, so I sincerely apologise in failing to post anything up for the past few days. Being the first week back... there are a lot of choices to be made... decisions and choices... ahh... I just hate them, and love them at the same time. I hate it when I don't have enough choices, but also hate it when there are too many decisions to make... LoL, in short... I'm hard to please.

Anyway, talking about choices... During my last few days in Malaysia, while walking around Gardens MV with one of my friend, I snapped a few pictures from a very popular American clothes apparel store that carries the same meaning of a hole (now now guys... don't get excited over a single word, keep it in your pants). Anyway, that shop gave its customers a whole range of jeans to choose from, and I couldn't help but think some of them had some homo-connotations to them.

I guess these are the gay guys that are straight acting, the ones that may or may not be out to their friends and family, but are nonetheless straight acting. It is not to say that these people aren't at ease with their sexuality... its just that maybe they are more comfortable blending into the general public, so that their friend, families and colleagues don't feel awkward around them.

Authentic are what the out and flamboyant gay guys like to think they are. They are the ones that live by the motto 'So what if I'm gay and I wanna dress gay? I don't give a fuck what other people think'. You can say that these gays are more at ease with their sexuality and do not really care about what other people think.

These are obviously not gay, as the design states... they are straight. Unless of course they are closeted. Well at any rate if they are closeted, it would take some time for them to crawl out of it... although some of them find it very safe and comfortable inside. If and when they decide to crawl out of their comfort zone, then they may decide on a change of fashion to either Standard or Authentic.

These are the gays that are into leather, hence the leather Boot. There is a bar here down under that is very leather friendly... its customer base is huge, from twinks to real leather bears (and trust me when I say real ones). Anyway, I've spoken to some of them before, and for a lot of them... its not just a fashion, but a lifestyle... together with jackets and big bikes and stuff like that.

And finally last but not least... the worst kind of gay you can end up becoming...

...

...

...

...

Ahahaha... how insulting right?

Cheers...

I'm Not That Scary... Right?

So what do you do on the very last weekend of the Chinese bull year? Go out and party like crazy… hahaha, nah I didn’t party like crazy, but I did go out both nights Friday and Saturday with my pals for drinks and dance. Friday was at Frangi… to celebrate a friend’s birthday, and Saturday was just… for fun :)

Saturday was at MP, fun as usual... met many new friends that night, some of them were really good looking… way out of my league. I also had quite a bit to drink that night, coz Evann was kind enough to drive me… so I kinda let loose a lil :)

Okay… maybe I let loose more than a little and scared a certain someone a lil… lets call him ‘C’. How did I scare C? well the story started from Friday night… C was at Frangi Friday night, and when I spotted him in the crowd… I immediately had the “OMG he is fucking cute!” thought going over and over again in my head. It wasn’t that I wanted to do him or something, but I did want to get to know him more… So I asked the people I went out with if they knew C, so that maybe one of them could introduce him to me… unfortunately none of them did… so I was a lil disappointed. My friends then suggested I approached him and talk to him… and maybe get his number or something….

OBVIOUSLY I wasn’t that bold, so I kinda made an excuse that I wasn’t high enough yet… and that I might approach him once I had a few more drinks. After some extra drinks, I looked around again for C, but he was already gone. I was rather relieved, coz despite wanting very badly to get to know him, I still didn’t feel bold enough to approach him. So with him gone, I told my friends that I would have chatted him up… but because he already left I couldn’t. To be honest, I was abit disappointed with myself then…

Guess what? C was then again at MP the next night… and again I wanted to get to know him… but honestly didn’t have the balls to just approach a complete stranger and ask for his number… After having a few drinks, the unthinkable happened… Evann suggested we played ‘Dare’ and dared me to get that guys number. I was like… err, I’m really not that bold. Then Evann (wise old Evann) gave me a pick up line and said… that might work…

I’m not gonna post the pick up line here… coz I think its copyrighted by Evann… anyway… at that moment, maybe because of the drinks… I thought possibly armed with this super pick up line, I might be able to get C’s number. So after some persuasion from my mates… I finally dug up the courage walked up to C, and used the pick up line on him. He had a very cute smile when I said the line to him, and thank all the heavens in the world… I finally got C’s number!!! Lol, woohoo… I was like wow wow wow…

I went back to the table and told the guys I got his number! And then the supplier of the line said to me wide eyed in disbelieve “ It worked???” and I was like… omg, don’t tell me I was the guinea pig, and that u never used that pick up line before… from his giggling that moment, I knew I was used :) haha even though I was used, it was a good type of used… coz I actually managed to get C’s number.

The bad part is that… I’m pretty sure I scared C by using such a pick up line in a club… coz I sent him an sms in this evening asking how’s his day… no reply so far…I mean if it was me… I would be pretty freaked out if some stranger walked up to me and used that pick up line as well… but he gave me his number, and I missed call him to double check its correct… don’t think he lied about his number…

Maybe I’m not his type, maybe I freaked him out… I dunno… anyway, overall I had a great weekend out with all my friends… and I guess it would be a perfect weekend if C actually did reply my sms… hehe… and I just realised while typing this post that I was the only one that played the dare that night… being dared to get C’s number… nobody else actually played :| Well I hope I didn’t scare him, and I’d like to say that I didn’t approach him just because of the dare… the dare only helped made me more bold to approach him… coz maybe without it… I wouldn’t have mustered up the courage to do what I did…

Are You Sure You Don't Wanna Hang That Up?

It is very usual for us Chinese to decorate the house and the work place with Chinese New Year Decorations for this Lunar New Year period. Most of the decorations are commonly red or gold in colour to symbolise prosperity and luck. Some decorations also come with Chinese characters on it, usually written in beautiful Chinese Caligraphy.

Some usual decorations you see year in year out are the ones below :

As almost everyone knows, Chinese folks have 12 zodiacs as well, just like our western counterparts... The difference is that our zodiacs is based on 12 different animals... In the coming new year, it would be the year of the Magnificent Tiger... which is also the year in which I was born with... for those of you who can count, don't bother doing the math... I'm born in the year of the tiger, but really just turned 23 this year... go figure. I am strictly not 24 yet... so don't even suggest it.

Anyway, since I'm born in the year of the tiger my mom has gone overboard with the Chinese New Year decorations this year. She bought quite a bit decorations in the shape of tigers... one of the ones is the pair below...

Its a picture of a male and a female tiger holding auspicious items with the word "Fook" on it... Fook ! not Fuck... don't get it wrong. Fook naturally means luck, and Chinese folks totally adore this word... Fuck on the other hand isn't really an auspicious word... not unless you are really horny. Well these two decorations are supposed to be hunged up side by side, usually to each side of a door, so that it symbolises an auspicious greeting into which ever door you are walking through. Well... it is nice... but I would much rather have hung up something like this...

Yupz two male tigers side by side instead of a male and a female :) Can you guess which is the top and which is the bottom? ahahha... Let me tell you the simple answer to that, they are both versatile! I wonder if any houses I visit this year would have any homo-themed Chinese New Year Decorations... Highly unlikely... but maybe

Happy shopping for Chinese New Year my chinese friends... and to all the others... just enjoy the sales that come during this festive season and shop as well :) Just two more weeks before Chinese New Year!!!

The Place Where Its Queer To Be Straight

Hmm... People always ask me why do I even bother going to gay clubs when I never get any numbers or pick anyone up? Well for starters its not that I don't wanna pick anyone up, its just that nobody wants to be picked up by me... But, that’s another rant for another time. So why issit then do I go to clubs? Well there are a number of reasons I do... For starters I like to drink, I ain't alcoholic, but I kinda like the feeling when you're a lil high (not drunk! Just a lil high... Like after your second glass :) ), it makes you more relaxed. So that’s one reason, coz when you're out at a club with friends, that’s when you start drinking a little.

Okay... Okay... I can already hear the counter argument from some of you guys... Why not drink at home? Where the drinks are cheaper, and you don't have to pay a cover charge to go in? Or why not drink at a regular bar, where by the drinks are less watered down... And cheaper than in clubs... Yea huh? Why not....?

Okay well, another reason I like going to clubs is because I love to loosen up on the dance floor. I totally admit that I can't dance for nuts... But that shouldn't stop me from doing something I like to do right? I mean... Its not like people on the dark dance floor are going to remember me the next day when they see me on the streets anyway. So yea, dancing is one of the reasons I like to go to clubs. If anyone wants to give me some free dance tips, you're more than welcomed. I remember gaining some valuable dance tips from Jerry last year in one of his blog posts :)

So okay that’s already two pretty good reasons why I like to go to clubs. The final reason I like to go gay clubbing is because I'm gay! Okay, hear out my explanation before you roll your eyes. I feel normal, comfortable and at ease when I'm at a gay club... Because its the only place I know where its normal to be gay, and queer to be straight. Everywhere else is straight territory, a gay club is the only place I don't have to put up any walls and act straight... Although I have to admit that I'm pretty straight acting... Even in gay clubs... But that’s not the point, the point is that I get to be around my own kind of people at a gay club... and that kinda puts me at ease. I think this is more so the case in Malaysia... Where everywhere else is straight, and you could be imprisoned if you were a certain race and your cock was caught in the wrong place where the sun doesn't shine. The thought alone is scary. If they can do it to the second most powerful man in the country, then nobody is safe at night.

So yea... That is the main reason I like to go to gay clubs, because I can be around my own kind of people. The theory is pretty much the same as why every town has a china town and all the chinese people gather there... And its the same as why Bangsar is over populated with caucasian expatriates... Because its normal for people to want to be around their own folks. Sometimes when I go out clubbing, I don't even bother dressing up or doing my hair... And I know it and can feel it when people in the club give the the look that screams, 'dude you look like crap and shouldn't be in here!' But you know what, sometimes I just don’t care, because for now, I'm happy and at ease being around my own crowd... And no glare or stare is gonna stop me from going into clubs under-dressed with a messed up undone hairdo.

Yup, going to clubs for me is fun and relaxing... Even if I don't pick up, I know I'll still enjoy myself drinking, dancing and hanging around my gay friends at a gay venue being gay :) All that aside, I'm not saying that I won't pick up at clubs, if someone does take an interest in me and make the first move to say hi (coz I can be shy at times) then I'd certainly say hi back :) Hahaha. Last weekend I went clubbing with an old friend, shout out to Evann!, and he introduced me to alot of his other BFs... Which totally stands for blogger friends and not boy friends, lol. Which was cool :) they were all really nice. We were sorta a lil late getting to the club, thanks to a detour- which was worth it, and also getting a lil lost in the one way maze that is KL. Lol. But none the less, we were at the club with time to spare, and had a great time.

Bloody Discrimination

Before going back to Malaysia I bought the December issue of DNA :) it was a cool issue because they had many pages of swimwear models to usher in summer in Australia. Anyway, an interesting article appeared in this issue of the magazine… and the debated gay topic is whether or not gay men should be allowed to donate blood.

Apparently in Australia, just before donating blood… you have to answer a series of personal health questions and one of them for men is “Did you have sex with a man in the past 12 months”. Well if you did, then you are not eligible to donate blood in Australia. This has sparked widespread anger within the GLBT community in Australia, particularly Tasmania… where by the GLBT community there has tried to take the case to court under the anti-discrimination law.

I cant say that I’m particularly pleased about this form of discrimination between blood donors, but also I guess I’m not as offended by it as some other gays because I personally hate needles and wont be donating blood anytime soon anyway.

In fact there is another story about me and a blood bank that infuriated me more than reading that article. You see once, sometime last year, when I was walking around campus I was approached by this man asking me to fill out a survey for the Red Cross. As usual I expressed my disinterest in the matter and tried to politely walk away, but he was quite persistent in saying that it would take less than a minute for me to fill out. So I thought to my self, I guess filling in a form wouldn’t take long… and would do much harm anyway… so I filled it in.

Well silly me I filled in some personal details as well such as my hand phone number and e-mail. You know what happened, roughly a week later, a nice lady gave me a call and said that I can just pop in anytime in the next two weeks to donate my blood at the blood bank in my suburb. I was like, ‘WTF!’. I mean I know donating blood is good and all, but I hate needles… and I don’t fancy donating my blood. I was actually quite angry at that phone call because I never agreed to donate any blood in the first place, and I calmly (tried) told her so. She replied saying that I filled in this survey form agreeing to do so. That brought be back to that shifty guy that ask me to fill out the ‘survey’ in uni. So I sort of gave her a piece of my mind saying that they cannot just ask people to fill blood donating forms in disguise of surveys. Well I guess at the same time I knew it wasn’t her fault… and it was probably just that shifty guy profiting from selling information of ‘donors’ to the blood bank. I mean seriously, I’m Malaysian and I don’t even donate blood in my own country, why would I donate blood in a foreign country. I hate needles, period.

Thinking back now, I should have just told her that I was gay and had sex in the last twelve months… hahaha that would probably have deterred her… anyway…I guess in the bigger picture it is unfair that gays cannot donate blood. I mean the reason behind it given by the Red Cross is that gay people are more prone to catching HIV and other sexually transmitted disease. This maybe true with some gays that sleep around, but isn’t this the same with straight man and women that aren’t choosy in their sex partners? Coz I know some of them that sleeps around just as much. Not allowing gay men to donate blood is really just a form of discrimination.

Hmm… the Red Cross’ explanation is that they do not discriminate homosexuals, because apparently lesbos are allowed to donate blood… only gay men aren’t allowed to do so. Erm in some ways I can understand why the GLBT community is offended… its not really the Red Cross discriminating homosexuals and not allowing them to donate blood. But rather it’s the Red Cross stereotyping gay men as sexually charged individuals that sleep around. This is most certainly not the case for most of us (definitely me) so I guess the blood donation ban does infuriate me in that sense.

Oh well, why donate blood… as a friend of mine says, the blood bank is just a sophisticated organisation run by vampires to harvest their food. And if I may say so myself, this fact seems to be strongly backed by quite a few literature, particulary the Twilight series. And I’d just like to add that Jacob is sooo fucking hawt!
